Carlos A. Larrauri, JD, MPA, MSN
Clinician | Speaker | Advocate
I'm passionate about mental health policy, disability justice, and bioethics, as well as helping people recover and reach their full potential. I'm a clinician, speaker, and advocate, and I'm excited to share my knowledge and experience with you! Let's work together to promote mental health and wellbeing.
Research Interests
My research interests lie at the intersection of mental health, law, and policy, with a particular focus on understanding the effectiveness of peer support and advocacy programs in promoting recovery, exploring the tension between public good versus autonomy in treating psychosocial disabilities, and operationalizing a rights-based model for mental health care in global communities.

I draw from both my lived experience and professional expertise to inform my research. My education at Michigan Law and the HKS has helped me better understand the political interplay between stakeholders, the complexity of regulatory regimes, and the empirical methods and evidence for health policy reform. Coupled with my healthcare experience and training, my multidisciplinary education has equipped me with the skill sets to approach problems holistically and from multiple perspectives, crossing boundaries between science, law, policy, and research.
